Important Statement and Quotation Assumptions
These are the assumptions that have been made about you, your property and your cover requirements. Please ensure that the information provided by you and the statements on this page are correct.
Your Property (the main building and any additional structures such as outbuildings, barns etc) for which insurance is proposed;
- is your main residence and is permanently occupied solely by you, your family permanently living with you, or any joint named policyholder as permanent residence
- is not currently undergoing renovation or construction work
- is in a good state of repair and will be maintained in this state
- is built of brick, stone or concrete and roofed with slate, tile or concrete
- has no more than a 20% flat roof area
- is not a listed building
- has not been damaged by flood and is not in an area liable to flood
- is not within 400m of a riverbank, lake, seafront, reservoir, quarry or other excavation
- is free from structural movement and is not in an area subject to landslip, heave or subsidence
- is free from underpinning or any remedial action of the type connected with landslip, heave or subsidence or coastal or river erosion
- is not within 7 metres (22 feet) of any trees or shrubs which are more than 5 metres (16 feet) tall
- is self contained with a separate lockable entrance under your sole control
- is not used for business purposes other than paperwork, telephone calls and computer work
- is not left unoccupied for a period in excess of 30 consecutive days
- is not regularly unoccupied throughout the night
If contents cover has been requested, your valuables within the Property;
- are not worth more than 30% of your total contents sum insured (by valuables we mean gold, silver or other precious metals, jewellery, clocks, furs, stamp collections, paintings or other works of fine art)
You and your family permanently living with you, or any joint named policyholder as permanent residence have not;
- had buildings and /or contents insurance refused, cancelled or declared null and void
- had special terms imposed to buildings and/ or contents insurance
- been convicted of any criminal offence (other than motoring convictions) or have any prosecutions pending
- suffered any loss, damage or liability whether insured or not during the past 5 years
- got an occupation which may be regarded by the insurers as high risk, such as: actor, actress or presenter in films, stage, TV or radio; music or other performing arts; professional sportsperson including trainers and managers; non UK armed forces diplomatic staff; or connected with gaming, nightclubs, circuses, fairgrounds, amusements, street trading, scrap waste, second hand dealing, jewellery or antique dealing, licensed premises
- withheld any material fact that is likely to affect the judgement of the insurers
If contents cover has been selected, a quotation for the additional cover shown below may not be included automatically. This additional cover is usually available upon request and will be offered with any written quotation for contents insurance;
- Specified and Unspecified Personal Belongings (cover for general personal belongings, valuables and sports equipment to be insured outside of the home)
- Money and Credit Cards (to be insured outside of the home)
- Legal Protection
- Pedal Cycles
- Freezer Contents
