Page 2 of 3 Main Policy Features Property Damage – Ensure your property is covered for the full reinstatement cost. Our policies include a wide range of perils which can include accidental damage and subsidence cover. Contents - Make sure you have cover in place for all your contents at their new replacement value. Includes furniture, fixtures, fittings and machines, you may also want to consider proprietors’ and employees’ personal belongings. Maybe you need cover away from your premises? Then All Risks cover must be considered. Stock in Trade – Stock and materials in trade including raw materials work in progress finished goods and goods in trust belonging to the Insured or for which the Insured is legally responsible. ‘Target Stock’ needs to be specified separately, items such as cigarettes, wines & spirits, computers. Most products allow for an increase in seasonal stock also. Business Interruption – Have you considered the costly implications if your premises / equipment were unusable following a claim? Maybe a supplier has gone out of business. A business which has to close down still has to continue to pay its overheads, such as employees’ wages, interest on borrowed capital and rent, this is before you take into account losing out to competitors and damage to your reputation. A quick resumption of your business is vital. Business Interruption compensates you for the loss of profits you would have earned and your continuing operating expenses. The indemnity limits are flexible as are the indemnity periods. Employee Dishonesty – Businesses like yours, lose millions of pounds every year through employee fraud. Make sure your business is protected against theft, fraud or dishonesty committed by your employees. Public & Products Liability – You have a legal obligation to ensure that third parties are covered in case of accidental injury or damage. Products Liability provides cover if your company were to supply which through your negligence cause injury or damage. Legal costs and expenses are covered in defending prosecutions under all relevant Health & Safety legislation. Choose from varying levels of cover. Employers’ Liability – A legal requirement if you have employees. Covers your business against damages and legal costs which result from an employee suffering an injury or disease due to, and during their employment. The minimum legal liability is £5 million. Cover can be increased up to £10 million, with higher limits available on request. Goods in Transit - Ensure you have cover in place for goods you own or are responsible for in connection with your business whilst in transit within the territorial limits (usually Great Britain). Varying sum insured limits are available on request. Money & Assault Cover – Do you have a lot of cash on your premises, or maybe you visit the bank weekly and keep your money in a locked safe overnight. Many policies offer this cover as standard; however have you considered that the limits may not be sufficient for your needs. We can arrange higher indemnity limits for you. Glass Cover – Covers breakage and the reasonable cost of boarding up all external and internal glass at the premises. This can include the damage to frames & frameworks and usually the contents of display windows. Frozen Foods – Cover your business against the costs of deterioration of frozen foods, following the breakdown or accidental failure of the electricity supply to refrigeration units. Legal Protection – Make sure you are covered against all manner of possible litigation which is ever growing in your line of business. Cover can be purchased for employment disputes & compensation awards, legal defence, property protection and bodily injury claims. Loss of Licence – If you have a liquor licence, you should consider the reduction in value of your business or premises should your licence be withdrawn in circumstances beyond your control. Computer Breakdown - Have you considered trying to run your business without your records or possibly supplier contacts. Computer breakdown covers damage to hardware or software caused by failure of equipment, fire and theft etc... Covers the increased costs of working and the reinstatement of data/programs from accidently erased, destroyed, distorted or corruption during the period of insurance. Personal Accident – Cover for you and a specified number of employees against accidental bodily injury resulting in Death, Loss of limbs or sight, Permanent total disablement or Temporary total disablement. Acts of Terrorism – Cover is usually excluded unless requested. Protect your business against chemical, biological and nuclear acts of terrorism.
